A captivating marble mantel combining white and green shades with subtle gray and tan veining across its white base. Painstakingly carved from Carrara marble, it is elegantly adorned with trim crafted from Verde Antico marble. This particular mantel was among a collection of antique mantels imported from Europe and installed in the Waldorf Astoria Hotel during its initial construction in the 1930s on Park Avenue. Its origin can be traced back to Room 14Y within the hotel, adding to its historical significance. The mantel’s original hearth, as pictured, is included with the acquisition.
Included with your purchase is an authenticity card from the Waldorf Astoria, lending an extra layer of provenance to the piece. Notably, the mantel is still seen in its installed state at the Waldorf Astoria in the provided images. Should you be interested, you can request further information about its reclaimed condition before making a purchase.
