Louis XVI French Regency style carved limestone mantel that has been painted a pale yellow color. This mantel has a modest design with three carved floral motifs across the apron and carved flutings on the vertical supports. This mantel is stamped Made in France. The pictured hearth is not included. This mantel was imported from France to decorate the historic Waldorf Astoria Hotel of New York City which opened October 1, 1931. It was located in the M Suite on the 13th floor.
