This mantel is an incredibly intricate, well-thought out piece. Carved from beige marble with stunning large-scale golden yellow, pink, sienna, and blue violet veining, the result is a mix of warm and cool tones. An infinity chain runs the length of the apron, framing a unique pinwheel-esque floral motif at the center, echoing the sense of motion created by the infinity chain. Deeply carved, round, fluted 3/4-columns set on curved plinths frame the sides of the firebox opening. Wheat carvings ascend high within the flutings of the columns and 3/4-round capitals adorned with carved Acanthus leaves finish the top of the columns. The shelf naturally follows the curved shape of the mantels columns. The Breche d’alep marble hearth is included if desired, but requires restoration.
