19th Century Louis XVI French Regency mantel. Carved from French Breche d’Alep marble. Floral motifs and fluted details adorn the apron and forward facing vertical supports. Matching Breche d’Alep hearthstone included. This mantel was one of several antique mantels imported from France to decorate the historic Waldorf Astoria in New York city when it opened on October 1, 1931. This mantel was located in suite M on the 9th floor.
